    Explanation:

    Federal pardon sets aside the punishment for a federal crime. Article two Section 2 and Clause One of the US constitution grants the president power to pardon the federal crime offenders. The requests for the federal crimes are sent to the Office of the Pardon Attorney for investigation. Presidents pardon powers are limited to the federal only the offences against the US, and if an offence violates only the state law then it is not an offence against the US. There is disagreement among the scholars about whether a president can pardon themselves or not.

    Since Constitution grants president the power to pardon that is why I agree with it, there must have been some important reason for granting him this power.
