    The Great Migration is the relocation move of 6 million black people from the rural South to the North, Midwest and West between 1916 and 1970. Large number of African Americans moved to big US cities, they found jobs in different industries, in factories, slaughterhouses and foundries. Slowly and with great efforts, African American opened new spaces for themselves in public life.
