    The Immigration act restricted the migration based on nationality to the 2% of the total population of each nationality that were actually living in the united states according to the 1890 national census.

    This immigration act affected migration significantly as reduced total immigration from 357,803 between 1923 and 1924 to 164,667 between 1924 and 1925.

    Explanation:

    The act was passed by Representative Albert Johnson of Washington State. The act created a discrimination in migration to the United States specially for the citizens of Eastern Europe and practically eradicate immigration from Asia.
