There are many media types that reference Martin Luther Kings famous speech. Here are a few:

- "Ghost of Mississippi" - this is a movie about the assassination of Medgar Evers a civil rights leader in Mississippi. The speech is referenced several times i the movie

- "In the Name of Love" - song by the band U2 references "shot rings out in the memphis sky, free at last, they took you life, they could not take your pride".

- In a documentary about Robert Kennedy, he announces to a crowd of people that Martin Luther has just been assassinated. He uses some parts of the speech try and calm the crowd.

- The New York Times artice written in August 27, 2013, is titled "The Lasting Power of Dr. King's Dream Speech". and makes excellent reference to the significant impact this speech had on our culture.
