    Answer: In the Declaration of Independence Jefferson has his major premise in "All people are born with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

    For him the colonists were born with rights to have a life, liberty and happiness.

    Jefferson believed all men were born equal, he did not agreed with slavery, but had slaves.
