    Adolph Sylvester worked with Chicago Symphony Orchestra as the principal trumpet. He worked from 1948 till 2001 and from 2001 until 2004 as principal trumpet emeritus. He was born in Lake Park, Minnesota and his father was band director at Bertha High School. Herseth was considered to be one of the greatest orchestral trumpeters. His ancestory was Norwegian. He retired in 2001 and died at the age of 91 on April 13, 2013.
