Answer: There is more acid rain in the Eastern vs. Western United States.

    Explanation:

Acid rain is caused by the accumulation of the nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere. The nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides are produced by the burning of the fossil fuels by the automobiles and by the industries utilizing fossil fuels for running engine and machines. These are also produced by the power plants. These oxides react with the water vapor in the air and produce acids.

Most of the power plants are located in the eastern united states as compared to the western united states thus the liberation of sulfur and nitrogen oxides from these power plants are expected to be more and the eastern region is subjected to be more affected by the acid rain.
