To negotiate before 620.000 human lives disappeared, I think that the causes that lead to the war were noble but the backstroke of violence was too much of a price. To set a dialogue with the slavers and to change its business to other that not included the use of humans giving incentives such subsidies would make slaveries to came into sense and stop the exploitation of persons.
