What did the Gestapo and SS do?

    this can be answered by a lot of things. I'll focus on the holocaust because of how significant it was. The Gestapo and SS forced Jewish in Germany out of their own homes and put them into a certain area called a ghetto. In each ghetto, there would be about 12 people living because of the overpopulation in relation to the size of the ghetto community. Over the next few months, Jewish would be sent to concentration camps and most would be sent to be burned alive at the gates of the camps. The ones that passed the gates would still be treated horribly. All possessions were taken away, their clothes were completely stripped, they had almost no food to eat, and were beaten violently by the Gestapo and SS. This would go on until about the last couple months of WWII. At the end, the Gestapo and SS didn't want any evidence of their poor treatment of Jewish, so they burned their bodies after sending them into gas chambers to suffocate. Not all Jewish died however, as some Ally troops were quick enough to save the Jewish.
