Why were the indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica and South America more likely to accept Christianity than the people of North America were?

The Spanish conquest and colonization had a deeper and stronger impact on the Native Indian cultures of Mexico, Central America and South America because their cultures were annihilated, destroyed, and they were forced to convert into Christianity by the sword. Spanish culture, language and Catholicism was imposed. They did not have options. The Spaniards mingled with the Indian people, by sleeping with their Indian female slaves and getting them pregnant, producing the mestizos.

In the English colonies, the English settlers interacted with the Indians, but they did not mix racially or sexually with them (as a rule), and did not get them assimilated into British culture and religious practices. This fact makes the difference and provides an answer to the question posed here.
