John Adams was one of the founding fathers and an important figure in US independence. The lawyer and second president of the country.

He was not a substitute president, although criticized by many, Adams managed to keep the country at peace, even in the face of conflicts between European nations that could have dragged the US into its wars. Because of the peace that Adams was able to maintain, there were many admirations for Adams in the country. The population cheered and went hoarse whenever the president appeared. Never have the federalists, the party to which Adams belonged, been so popular.
