The collapse of communism led to the break up of Yugoslavia because of the conflicts.

Explanation:

The end of communism in Yugoslavia resulted in the breaking away of Yugoslavia from the sphere of the soviet union which was a staunch follower of the communism.

After the break up, it opted for a non alignment movement and became a founder member of that. This also led to Yugoslavia adopting a more decentralized government and a repressive form of government.
