    Republic of the Philippines

    Explanation:

    Hello!

The Spanish-American War ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris, on December 10, 1898. In accordance with this Treaty, Spain ceded it to the US, in addition to the custody of the island of Cuba, the island of Puerto Rico, the island of Guam and the archipelago of the Philippines.

Because the US government did not recognize the autonomy of the archipelago, the American Philippine War began. After being defeated, the Philippines became an American colony until the Second World War.

The Republic of the Philippines declared its independence on July 4, 1946.
