    Explanation:

    During the reformation age, people began to question the religious institutions, especially the church. This eventually lead to challenge the church during the enlightenment period.

    It was during the reformation period people began to question certain activities of the Catholic church, eventually leading to the creation of Protestant sect in Christianity as a line of faith.

    However the main intention was to gain control of the church and eventually control them too. This also lead to people questioning the government over certain aspects too.
