    Explanation:

    Singapore was separated from Malaysia on 9 August 1965 and became an independent country. It was a result of economics and political differences between the parties of Malaysia and Singapore, it led to communal tensions and racial riots in July and September 1964.

    It was one of the fourteen states of Malaysia after the formation of Federation of Malaysia after getting freedom from Britain.

    Due to various political issues the Prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman decided to expel Singapore from the federation. It was voted by parliament on 9 August 1965, and Singapore got separated from Malaysia in 1965.
