New methods of farming and livestock breeding along with new technology allowed the British farmers to produce a lot more food. This paved the way for the industrial revolution later on since the big spike in food supply resulted in an even bigger spike of population growth. More people meant bigger cities and more demand for goods and thus the industrial revolution was born.
