Crevecoeur emphasized that European and American societies are different in the former, lords had everything while the majority of people were left with little or nothing. America had practically no aristocracy, there were no monarquies, "The rich and the poor, were not as far removed from each other". American society was free, in Europe kings and queens did not care for their citizens, but only for themselves.

    Explanation:

Crevecoeur talks about his countrymen facing hardships on the journey, but enduring through it all. He talks about the progression of the arts, the economic climate, and the social growth of the land. Many different European ethnicities contributed to this ever changing land; these groups live side by side and interact everyday with no animosity.
