    The two reasons why the Whig Party, one of the major parties in the U. S. in the 1830s to 1850s had almost no supporter in Texas before the civil war was because they opposed expanding of slavery to other territory and also made the people of Texas unhappy.

    The emerging party the Whigs had made the people of Texas very unhappy because they were against the 'annexation of Texas' to the United States. The Whigs also opposed extending slavery to other places. The Whigs always used to oppose the "Mexican War" which had a huge support in Texas.
