    The Civil War was the deadliest war in American history. Altogether, over 600,000 died in the conflict, more than World War 1 and World War 2 combined. Here are some of the reasons why Civil War was the deadliest War of history:

    Rifling in guns and artillery meant greater accuracy and more distance in firing. Generals used old strategies with new technology that could inflict greater destruction. Medical knowledge had not advanced to meet the needs of caring for injuries and diseases brought about by new technology.
