    The Florida settling basically made United States involved in the power struggle between big European nations.

    Explanation:

    At that time, there were 3 dominant force who fought f or dominance during the Florida colonization Spain, France, and Great Britain. Florida had an excellent climate and almost every kinds of profitable crops can grow perfectly in this region.

    This is why all of those nations want to assert more control over its territory. They placed United States in an awkward position since all of them expecting that US took their side in a certain way and build an alliance with them.
