Committee on Public Information (CPI) was formed on 13 April 1917 by the executive order of President Woodrow Wilson. The committee was formed to gather public support for participation of the United States in World War One. The committee was criticized later for the propaganda used to influence public opinion but before it was dissolved in 1919 it has achieved the goals it formed for.
