    Railroads were put to a halt because no workers

    Explanation:Strike affected rail-road transportation nationwide, as a result bringing American businesses that depended on railroads to a halt. Workers were striking for their cut in wages, but management's intrusiveness into their personal lives. The federal government became involved, with federal troops being sent to open railroads. As federal troops were also sent to stop the strike riots broke out in the federals attempts to stop them and tragically several strikers were killed, however by the tenth of July the strike was broken up. As a result Deb and some other top union officials were thrown in prison for disobeying the injunction.
