A: Central Pacific workers had to blast through mountain ranges to lay track

This made working conditions on the Central Pacific Railroad especially dangerous.

    Explanation:

"Charles Crocker" managed the construction for the "Central Pacific". He thought of using the Chinese immigrants for this task. They had migrated to California for gold and to become rich.

Chinese exceled at their job and they played a major role in constructing this rail road. The route that they had to carve for the track from "west to east" required them to blast the "Sierra Nevada" mountains. The Chinese workers worked fearlessly on the heights of these mountains. They did not even fear about the black powder.
