    The Supreme Court case of Brown vs Board of education (1954), declared that segregated public schools were unconstitutional, overturned decades of precedent and challenged social traditions in the society.

    Explanation:

    President Dwight D Eisenhower carried out his responsibility to enforce law by implementing desegregation in Columbia. Not all state governments complied with Supreme Court's order to integrate and many people fought against it.

    Arkansas governor then ordered his state's national guard to block the entry of nine newly enrolled African American students to Central High School in Little rock because of which a violent mob gathered in front of the school.
