    Explanation:

    After world war 1 Germany had to pay for the destruction it has caused during the 4 long years of fighting. The sum of the reparations was so great, $3,264,750,198,675 in today's money, that it was very hard to repay.

    They started making paper money but since there was no gold to back up the currency the famous German hyperinflation happened that spiraled Germany into even more problems that will down the line give rise to another world war.
