How does Thomas Jefferson support the argument that all people are born with specific rights?

Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States between 1801 and 1809, was one of the founding fathers of the Nation and the leader of the Democratic-Republican Party.

His ideological stance was close to the Enlightenment and the republican revolutionary movements, especially that of France. Thus, Jefferson believed in the existence of the natural rights inherent in every man, which he included in the Declaration of Independence of the United States (of which he was the author) : the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were inherent to the human condition, as they were originated in the very birth of people, and therefore inalienable.

From this philosophical position his republican and democratic position emerged, which arose from the vision of all men as free and equal. Therefore, it could be said that Jefferson represents the beginning of the values of freedom and democracy that today are the main characteristics of the United States of America.
