    Joseph McCarthy was a senator from the state of Wisconsin. H accused people from within the government and outside concerning the spread of communism without appropriate pieces of evidence. Red Scare was the period of threat of communism In the United States. A term McCarthyism was used in the 1950's to pressurize people by intensive investigation of being accused of spreading communism in the United States. Soon the opposition from U. S court and loss of public attention ended it.
