The reason for the establishment of Limited Test Ban Treaty:

The important first move towards the control of nuclear weapons

The Minimum Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, which banned the testing of nuclear weapons in open space, in sub-sea, or under ice, was signed by members of the United States, the Soviet Union, and Great Britain. A significant initial move towards nuclear weapons regulation was accepted by the Agreement that "President John F. Kennedy" concluded fewer than three months before its murder.

The Agreement was a small but substantial step towards nuclear weapons control. In the coming years, the negotiations between the US and the Soviet Union extended with restrictions on several nuclear weapons and the withdrawal of others.
