The Latin Americans wanted to do trade freely in the region. They wanted the authorities to institute trade regulations that would benefit them and not the Spanish.

    Explanation:

They believed that they were not given positions of importance in the region.

The Creole elite were worried that Spanish leaders would try to bring about some reforms in America that would undermine their economic and social interests also they were scared that their land might be explored to an extent where they won't have wealth or resources for the war.

But they believed the enlightenment philosophies were good and beneficial to the region.
