    Spain sponsored lots of expeditions to the New World (America).

    They were the conquistadors, so they explored new lands and took many others by force. An example was Ponce de Leon, who explored and stablished a colony in Florida. Francisco Coronado traveled as further Northe as The Great Plains, looking for the losst Gonden Cities, but he only found little pueblos that had nothing, as he imagined and dreamed of, to offer him and his troops.
