    Explanation:

    Look, Im about 90% sure it is this one. The policy of appeasment basically meant that britain and france turned a blind eye to a lot of the stuff hitler was doing in the late 1930's because they didnt want to start another war because 1) the horrors of WW1 were still an active memory, and 2) the 2 nations couldn't afford to go to war.

    Because they turned a blind eye, hitler didnt follow a lot of the treaty of Versailles policies, he broke a few. When he invaded austria, Britian and France thought it was to unite the german speaking people. Also, Britian and France thought that Germany would be a barrier to communism and that he would not let it travel through europe, as the "red scare" was a big issue.

    The Policy of appeasment let Hitler do what he wanted and allowed him to make big strides towards his bigger plans, which in turn was WW2.
