A prudent estimate would be around 7 million people in North America, less than 1 million of them in modern-day Canada, and the rest in the United States.

The least conservative estimates give North America a figure of around 12 million people. However, it still pales in comparison with in Central and South America according to most estimates (around 37 million people).
