Why did the colonists unite?

    Answer: The British were taxing the colonists for, what the colonists felt, a unfair reason. Also they didn't even ask the colonists about it. They then felt they should have their own independence. In 1764, the British taxed the colonists on sugar, molasses, and other goods coming in from other countries.
