    Both, Great Britain and Japan, are island nations, consisted of multiple islands. They developed in a unique way because of this, and it is very easily to distinct the culture, and way of functioning of the countries when compared with the others, even with the neighboring countries.

    Since, both of them do not have enough resources for their own needs, they are mainly countries that import raw goods, but played very smart and started to focus on industrialization and technology, so they import raw goods, manufacture them, and than sell them for much bigger amount, thus making their economies very strong.
