Depends, during World War II many women had to travel around the united states to work in factories needed to supply the allied and American armed forces. Unlike a few years prior, when there was not enough work at all for both men or women during the great depression. Business was booming and the unemployment rate fell to just above 1%. After the war, certain groups were not entirely welcomed as immigrants including the central powers and Japan.
