The WPB or War Production Board was an agency created by the USA government to supervise war production during World War II. It was created by president Franklin D. Roosvelt in 1942.

The WPB directed conversion of industries from peacetime work to war needs, allocated scarce materials and resources, established priorities in the distribution of materials and services and forbade non essential production.

The OWM or the Office of War Mobilization was an independent agency of the US government formed during World War II to coordinate all government agencies involved in the war effort.
