    It depended on what the ship was intended for, cargo ships would carry food, supplies, etc. War ships would carry soldiers, there were ships for slaves, and each of these ships had the risk of bringing invasive species to wherever they were going. "American" Cockroaches, Rats, and Honeybees all accidentally came from ship that sailed here.
