    After the Seven Years' War, England was left with military expenses and monarchy took steps to contain the colonies and obtain the largest possible financial benefit. In 1763 the English parliament voted the Proclamation that forbade the settlers to occupy lands newly conquered in the war. The intention was to have exclusivity in the commercialization of those territories.
