8. What were the principal differences between John Calvin's religious reform and Martin Luther's?

Martin Luther and John Calvin were the great exponents of the Protestant Reformation. Luther being considered the founder of Protestantism, and Calvin who adopted this principles to propose his doctrine.

It can be said that Luther was the one of the theory and Calvin was the one of the practice.

Among the main differences are:

-Luther criticized the numerous sacraments in the Catholic Church, reducing them to only three, which he thought were biblically based and acceptable. However, Calvin considered that all the sacraments of the Catholic Church should be deleted, including the three that Luther had retained.

-Luther accepted that the government supervised the administration of church affairs, while Calvino opposed to any type of political interference in the church.

-Calvino agreed and admitted the loan with interest, in clear contrast with the Lutherans.
