The great railroad strike of 1877 showed the power of united workers and proved what unity means to lower socioeconomic classes. In the future, they would plan their next battles with that in mind and demand more benefits from deals they make with employers while employers and the government would focus on preventing chaos and finding a compromise with workers. Also, it leads to the forming of first workers unions, forming of the National Guard and first pension fund founded by a major employer.
