At the height of the Cold War the nations that were present in the "Eastern Bloc" were: Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania and, until the sixties, Albania and of course the Soviet Union. All these states were opposed to the western bloc formed by NATO states. The term "Eastern Bloc" is also used as a synonym for the Warsaw Pact and / or Comecon.
