    The correct answer is "D".

    The 1950s were known as the decade of "conformity", as people tried to live under socially accepted patterns. Men had to in charge of the household while women were confined to housekeeping and eschewing work outside the house. However, these patterns started to change, as women who occupied post-war jobs refused to go back to live in their homes. This challenge of the "social mold" by women would result in the "sexual revolution of the 1960s, where feminist movements would fight women's rights.
