In 1880, most of the foreign-born population was from Northern and Western Europe.

In 1910, only about half the foreign-born population was from one region.

In 1910, the population came from a wider variety of areas.

In 1910 people were coming from other countries in hopes to find a better job and better life. In 1880 it wasn't super common to have a bunch of immigrants come into the country. (also if you have learned anything about Ellis island and Angel island you can add some facts from that)
