    Nelson Mandela lived in South Africa, that already was an independent state. This country had a racial segregation system from 1948 to 1990s. Nelson Mandela wanted to overthrow the government this way this racial system would be over. The Algerian War was different, because Algeria was still a colony of France, because of that the National Liberation Front FLN began a guerrilla against France to obtain independence from France. Only in 1962, an agreement was signed and Algeria became independent.
