How did European economic policies lead to famines in African colonies following World War I?

A. Since all Africans were forced to work in factories producing military equipment, there were not enough farmers to produce food for the colonies.

B. Since Europeans required Africans to pay their taxes in food, few Africans could grow enough to feed themselves and pay their taxes.

C. Since Africans were forced to purchase expensive imported foods from Europe, African workers had no reason to produce food in the colonies.

D. Since only European settlers were given access to fertile land, African farmers were forced to farm poor land that could not produce enough food.
