    Explanation

    Lewis and Clark began their journey to the Missouri River on May 14 1804. They headed upsream on the missouri river on a keelboat and two small boats. they travelled for about 15 miles per day. They discovered many thing on the trip and learnt about geography of the area. They also named new plant and animals they came across some of which names are still in use today. Heat and strong River currents made their trip better.
