    After the 50's, with the rise of popular music, american classical music passed through changes and experimentalization, in the 60's minimal music, as minimal art, was in vogue, some of the minimalist composers are Philip Glass, Steve Reich and John Adams, in the 70's and 80's was the rise of postmodern music, with composers such as John Cage. It also found an important role in the development of film's scores.
