The development of new technology after World War 1 put many, many farmers, and farmer hands' (workers) out of jobs and work. This was because these new machines replaced the human workers and did more work than the people did in a day in a relatively short time. However, the farmers that could afford these new machines thrived. they made a lot of money and the other workers that had no jobs had to learn to work with these machines or move to the cities to get jobs. Sadly, many died because of poverty. This caused the economy to become damaged and led to the great Depression.
