The second wave immigrant that arrived in the United States was from Ireland and Germany

During the 1840s potato famine in Ireland, most Irish individuals flee their country to arrive at the East Coast regions of the U. S. Most of them were having no money so they remained near the East Coast because they lacked the resources to facilitate their internal travel. At this very time, equal numbers of Germans arrived as immigrants but they travelled to occupy more inland areas to buy farms in the Midwest.
