    Executive Order 9981 was the order responsible for desegregating the US Military. The Order was signed by President Truman on July 1948 that had earlier in 1936 met with the Committee of Civil Rights, which proposed the end of the discrimination and segregation in the military. By 1953 more than 90% of black troops were integrated.
